Contrary to the portayal of lasers in manyscience fiction movies,a laser beam wouldnot be visible(at least to the naked eye) in the near vacuum of space as there wouldbe insufficient matter in the environmentto make it visible.in case you didn't:LASER stands for light amplification bystimulated emission of radiation.
